    Summary:
Starting with the history of its building, the author takes us on a journey through the U.S.S. Constitution’s history. We are introduced to her captains, her voyages, and her engagements. Along the way, we learn about life onboard the Constitution: the daily workings, the victories, the camaraderie, and the conflicts. In the end, we see her service as an emblem of the country for which she fought.

The book is written in an engaging story-like style. There are few pictures throughout, but the battle diagrams provide a nice visual to accompany the battle narratives. There is a glossary of terms, and a 15-page bibliography for future research.
