Default Sails of Glory and Wings of Glory at Carnage Convention Nov 1-3, 2024

I’ll be running the following games at the Carnage (https://carnagecon.com) convention on Saturday, November 2nd. Carnage is held at the Killington Grand resort hotel in Killington, VT, from the first to the third.

    At 8am:

    Sails of Glory

The Battle of the Nile if the French fleet had sailed out of Aboukir Bay to meet the English in open waters.

    At 7pm:

    Wings of Glory

Axis bombers with their escorting fighters make a run on the island of Malta. The British fly out to meet them. In Biplanes. They may also have a few other fighters to throw at the Axis.

A few pictures with descriptions of a pirate game at last year’s Carnage can be found here: https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjB2cxn

Also, the Northern Conspiracy war game club will be holding an open game day on Saturday October 10th at the Best Western hotel in Portsmouth, NH, USA. See facebook.com/tncogd for details.

This has also been posted on the Wings forum.

Thanks for the Heads up Michael. I hope that it draws in a few more players for your game.
We did the Nile at Doncaster a few years back. It will be great to compare your take on the battle and compare it with our own more historical start to the game. "What if" games are always interesting.

The Business of the commander-in-chief is first to bring an enemy fleet to battle on the most advantageous terms to himself, (I mean that of laying his ships close on board the enemy, as expeditiously as possible); and secondly to continue them there until the business is decided.

Yes, the French had some good ships and Adm. Brueys was not a bad admiral so it would have been interesting. Looking forward to this AAR.
