    A nice book in German language.

    With many mostly coloured pictures, this book gives you an overview about the most important wars fom the 16th to the 19th century & decribes the development of the battleship under sails.

    The focus lies upon the loss of the Spanish Armada, victory of the combined Dutch-Anglo fleet over the French, American Independence war and the Napoleonic Age.

    The very best part of the book is a big literature list with books & titles in German languages from famous authors like the Hornblower Series. So if you get hooked by the age of sail, you can simply & quick choose good novels.
