    Thanks for this Vol. It fills in a few details about Smith of which I was unaware.

    Smith and Cochrane were most colorful characters. I'm sure they were the inspiration for much of the fiction covering the period.

    I concur Vol. I can see similarities in many of the books that I have read to actions and escapades by both men, often not too heavily disguised either.
