    Default OBIT Salem Saberhagen. 2005-2021

It grieves me to report the death of ships cat Salem Saberhagen, sometime contributor to the Anchorage and ship's cat to Admiral and Mrs Bligh. Known throughout the Fleet as the best mouser, actually supplying three in one afternoon during an action betwixt myself and the dread Captain Kiwi.
He will no doubt be sadly missed by both those who remember him from photos such as the one below and those who met him in person at Chez Bligh.

Till we meet again old chap, enjoy chasing your mystical mice on Fiddler's Green.

Oh so sorry to hear this. We lost our Tigger to kidney failure two years gone now. Fortunately we were adopted by Jewel of the Nile, who showed up starving, but since has filled out quite nicely.

That is how Salem came into our lives. Another cat who visited us at morning coffee time every day just brought him along one wet and foggy February morning, and after his usual snack and preen on the rug left without said young friend, who unbeknown to us spent the night in our arbour. The rest is history.

Rob -- I am so sorry to hear of this -- my sincerest condolences to you and Mrs. Bligh. I know the pain of losing an animal with which you have a special relationship.

thanks chaps. As Bill said we had a special relationship, but he never let us forget who was the real Admiral in the household!
