    Smile Hello from Spain

    Hello,

my husband and I have just adquire Sails of Glory starter kit and some ships. We are painting our ships, waiting for a board game from a online printing shop and making some islands and coasts in modelling clay to prepare the scenary. This is a amazing world with a lot of things to do!

Searching about the game we met this forum and I'd just look at some of the posts that are fascinating. Thanks a lot for all these information because it makes more easier to play Sails of Glory.

Now, we want to show you some of our first ships that we are preparing. Sorry if we are not making exact reproductions but we are first timers in this huge world.

You have made a very nice job of painting and detailing the ships, I think they look much better rigged and with the masts and yards painted, I guess I should start on mine.

    Who's ratlines did you use?

Welcome to the Anchorage, Lourdes, from here in the United Kingdom. You have shown a high degree of modelling skills in the way you have decorated your ships.

It is wonderful to be able to welcome you both to the Anchorage Lourdes. As has been said your first fleets do you no discredit whatsoever. I can see that his Most Catholic Majesty's ships are in very good hands indeed. Thank you for posting these pictures. Do contact your fellow countryman Julián aka Redcoat, he is the absolute maestro when it comes to model ships. Also Captain Duff and Texas do some pretty keen work.
May you both sail with a fair wind and a willing foe.

The Business of the commander-in-chief is first to bring an enemy fleet to battle on the most advantageous terms to himself, (I mean that of laying his ships close on board the enemy, as expeditiously as possible); and secondly to continue them there until the business is decided.

    Thank you very much.

I have used the frame or loom that I made in a plastic sheet to make the shape. I have done it following an idea that I have seen in this forum and I have completed it to build the twelve ratlines that the ship carries. The material used is black sewing thread, that I passed through the holes with a needle, then it hardens with superglue and I cut it.

    Good morning Lourdes.

A very neat bit of kit there.
If you have not found the How To section on the Home page, you may find it interesting, especially if you want to see how other people have tackled ship building and alterations.

A warm welcome to you from here in Bristol , UK
Like your ships very much and your ratlines very interesting. i used Langton models brass etched ratlines on my ships but
I am also looking at the new acetate types from Warlord games.
Any questions dont hesitate, someone will have a answer for you.
