    Default 18-Gun Brig

One of my first painting projects is a Langton 18-gun brig. I originally wanted to make it the USS Niagara, but I can't get the hull to look clean enough, so I figured I'd just paint the outside of the hull black and either make a new Niagara later or come back and repaint this one once my skills improve. That said, I'm otherwise pretty happy with how it's been going so far. Here's the hull now (finished, I think), I'll post more pictures as things come together.

Just a couple more sails, a touchup or two, and some varnish left to go.

That is looking just the ticket Jason.

Here's the finished brig along with a small flotilla of gunboats:

Even better than I envisaged it Jason.
On the strength of that I am just about to add one to my next Langton order which is just about ready to go.

Praise where praise is due Jason.
I just posted my order to Ron.

I just realized that I still need a name for this vessel. Any suggestions? I'm thinking maybe Michigan or Michilimackinac.

Mine arrived today from Ron along with a load of buildings for my Fortress Island project.
    More of that later.

If you like M names how about Madison and earn your Navy some Brownie points Jason.

I like those two names in particular, because they reference my home region and can work for American, British, and maybe even French ships, if they're old enough.

They work OK for me. Ticonderoga also would cover the whole period.
