Default Master and Commander 2 ???

Russell Crowe recently dropped hints that a sequel to Master and Commander is being discussed (be still oh throbbing heart):

We can but hope Bill. We can but hope, and make a lot of noise on Social media.

The Business of the commander-in-chief is first to bring an enemy fleet to battle on the most advantageous terms to himself, (I mean that of laying his ships close on board the enemy, as expeditiously as possible); and secondly to continue them there until the business is decided.

Would be nice - without too much computer animation.

I would love if they could get the old HMS Rose/HMS Surprise to sail with L'Hermione for that.

What a great idea Jonas! I will second that.

I don't know how I feel about another film. Master and Commander is great and stands on its own. I would hate to see that ruined with a bad sequel.

Yesterday evening I just saw the film with my two eldest sons,
to celebrate the arrival of my SoG starter kit !

It's really different from the book, but I love it.

I always marvel at how we can take years reading books to build up our fictional characters profile and the world he inhabits, whilst the Film Producer can only have two hours or so to achieve the same thing and get a story crammed in as well.

Apparently they combined the plots of a couple of the books.

That is correct Jason, although the way the books flow into each other, it may be said that thy just stitched together two parts of the same story.
