This book tells the story of how the U. S. It gives great insights to the personalities of the U. S. Navy heroes that had emerged from the War of 1812. Included in the book are details on the new ships built and those British ships seized during the war and used in expedition such as the 74-gun Independence, the 44-gun Guerriere, 38-gun Macedonian, and 18-gun Epervier. A good sorce of information on the post War of 1812 U. S. Navy.
