Default What's on your workbench for June.

I actually got an afternoon yesterday with enough table to do a bit of work on a coupler of ships, and some other outstanding pieces between the Door to the Kitchen being blocked up and the Electrician starting to rip up the upstairs landing.

Next month I should have the full use of my Games room.

The frantic pace of real work this time of year keeps me from visiting my workbench much, but the whaling bark Nantucket continues to move slowly forward.

    Default Lovely whaler!

That's so cool! I like what you've done with the ship's boats by the sides.

More things waiting on my bench: Ft Louvois with added detail, the entry, and necessary room, as well as some chimneys missing from the casting/print.

The lighthouse is interesting. I wanted it butted up against a granite outcropping. An HO modeler suggested pine bark. The effect is great!

A Hebe with the quarter deck cut down, as per Jonas.

Plenty to keep you honest there then Dobbs.
I like the idea of Pine bark. Makes a nice change from Cork bark which I use from time to time. Just need to source the Pine over here. Must show us the Fort when the modifications are complete with its chimneys room bells and whistles. Also the Lighthouse which looks just fine in its setting.
Well done once again that man.

Well, this June I took a week off and took the opportunity to help a friend of mine to set up a temporary diorama in the city of Montpellier, in southern France.
The thumbnails are Playmobils ... hundreds of them. Up to a total of almost 1,700 figures. All of them customized representing the different regiments that participated in the battle, taking into account the difficulty of doing this with a toy.

I hope you enjoy seeing the pictures half of what I have enjoyed making this diorama.

That is incredible Julián. It takes me back thirty five years to when I made a Castle for my sons garrisoned by Playmobil Knights and Robin Hoods for archers. Nothing on that scale however. There must be a fortunes worth of figures and equipment there.

ˇJesús, María y José! Clics! That's a great undertaking; it must be great to see this diorama in person. I just love this kinda things!

I remember going to the Ejército del Aire (Spanish Air Force) museum off Madrid. There were many many just perfect dioramas with plane models. I spent more time looking at the details in those dioramas that at the actual real aircraft :D :D

The truth that has been very good work. The work behind each customization is incredible. Modeling of each piece and cloning.

By the way, I sent an email with some photos that might interest you.

Exactly, these dioramas have endless details that make you spend hours and hours watching them and you will always see new things.

    Just read the E-mail Julián.
Yes please! How could I turn down an offer like that?
