At last a few photos from Sven's Prague game "The fog bank."

The fleets starting position in the fog.
All make the first few moves by choice of cards not placed until the fog thins out.

Ships then reveal their true positions as the fog disperses into the small remaining drifts which you see.

The Business of the commander-in-chief is first to bring an enemy fleet to battle on the most advantageous terms to himself, (I mean that of laying his ships close on board the enemy, as expeditiously as possible); and secondly to continue them there until the business is decided.

And now! The sequel. "Near the coast."

Having fought the British ships to a standstill, and with the fog dispersed, the second game involves the escorted convoy of Merchantmen escaping to deliver their supplies to France.

The scenario opens with the British ships holding the passage between the rocks protecting the French Harbour.
As Admiral I suggested just anchoring and holding the gaps on spring Anchor.

The French and Americans deliberated on how to thwart our endeavors.

Totally ignoring my superb, but totally boring plan, my Captains set forth to challenge the Allies on the high seas, thus half opening the gate to disaster.

Meanwhile the canny French hold back until our plan is revealed to them.

Then they make their move in line abreast, closing the British squadron.

Altering course at the last minute the appeared to be focusing their fire power on the British center.

Covered by his consorts one Merchantman slipped into the gap left by the British concentrating on the defending French ships.
Meanwhile I went head to head with the merchant trying to slip past on the flank of the action.

After my failed attempt to grapple and board,
with his greater burden he brushed me aside, forcing me to come about.

It was now a stern chase as both Merchantmen headed for the safety of the rocky passage.

And made their escape showing a clean pair of heels to the out maneuvered Brits.

And that is how I became a Yellowed Admiral.

Thank you for the A.A.R.'s. Rob. Perhaps some court-martials for disobeying orders are called for?
