    Default Odysseus of Glory?

Anyone up for a literary accurate Odyssey game? Found this wonderfully illustrated book yesterday . . .

Looks superb Dave, but I just dare not start another period with Tripods looming on the horizon. Nevertheless I would love to follow your development of it once your hands improve. What scale Triremes or Galleys do you have in mind?

The Business of the commander-in-chief is first to bring an enemy fleet to battle on the most advantageous terms to himself, (I mean that of laying his ships close on board the enemy, as expeditiously as possible); and secondly to continue them there until the business is decided.

That does have a certain appeal. You would have to develop some rules for ramming attacks and perhaps develop more sophisticated rules for boarding.

There are quite a few decent sets of ancient naval rules out there (I've published a couple). If you wanted to bring in the more godly aspects then Galleys and Galleons from Ganesha would be worth a look

Not trying to influence my decision in any way then Dave! I have often considered doing an Athens vs Spata or Persia campaign.

G&G is a lovely set of rules, and not one of mine :)
But if you wanted some suggestions for sets suitable for large rowing battles...

Oooh, yes I would fancy this. I had an old Board game called Trireme, years ago came with 12 plastic triremes, so will follow with interest.
