Default What did you get for Christmas?

Only two items really Sails related. The ship mats and the Tankard from Mrs Bligh.

The Tankard has an inscription explaining the Kings shilling trick.

In the bottom trapped between two sheets of glass resides the shilling.

So any punters at shows beware.

SWMBO and youngest daughter went all out for me this year -- it started with a display cabinet for my military miniatures collection that has a drawer at the bottom big enough to store my military medals collection:

They added several Britain's collectible figures for the case -- Winston Churchill in 1898, two 1831 Grenadier Guards, and a World War I U.S. Marine:

Quite a nice mix of books for my interests (I do love books):

And most relevant for this site, novels 10, 11, and 12 of the Patrick O'Brian Aubrey-Maturin series:

A new driving cap, some socks, and I was one happy sailor!

Very nice too Bill. Wish I had space for a cabinet like that.
I just completed the Patrick O'Brian Jack Aubrey series on my Kindle.
They were excellent and I also had the Companion so that I could follow the voyages with the maps and charts,

Yes -- the map book and the lexicon companion books have been invaluable to me in reading these novels -- I am loving them (although I'm only finishing up #8). It is a wonderful thing to read when playing Sails of Glory.

Yes Steve anything like that is of interest to quite a few of us.
As you can see most of my stuff was not SoG orientated this year either.

    Are sorry.
That is one of Keith's WW2 Pilot cockpits. you can get them for WWI as well on the Anchorage Store. I am gradually building up a set for playing my Solo games. I now have six WWI and five of these. Six and you can fly three planes a side with limited fuel and amo all marked on the dials.
