If you look back at earlier years in the Solo campaigns Fox you will find several Frence Fleets.
My own French Fleet actually outnumbers my British one.

The Business of the commander-in-chief is first to bring an enemy fleet to battle on the most advantageous terms to himself, (I mean that of laying his ships close on board the enemy, as expeditiously as possible); and secondly to continue them there until the business is decided.

I suppose it's the lack of game boxes.

Now that is a period I'm interested in having been aboard Hermione in Yorktown harbour Fox.

I will be the first in line to give three cheers and hoist a reverent drink to Comte de Grasse, Comte de Rochambeau, and Marquis de Lafayette. The United States probably would not exist without them and the brave French sailors and soldiers who served under them. I hope you took my comment in the levity in which it was intended. BTW -- I have a fairly large French fleet and would love to see them in action.

I was at the Yorktown surrender Bi-Centennial ceremony in October of 1981. We marched in review before President Reagan, VP George Bush, Francois Mitterand, Helmut Kohl, Lord Hailsham and Sir Nicholas Henderson. The actual Royal Welsh Fusiliers marched past with their regimental ram, band, and a detachment of riflemen (that was pretty cool), and an elite German paratrooper unit in their steel grey uniforms, but the unit that stole the review were the French Legionnaires (with their distinctive march) while their band marched in ahead playing Robert Planquette's " Le Régiment de Sambre et Meuse"....unbelievably cool !!!

    Hermione meets Hermione.

Plus a picture of Speedwell Lass and Bligh on her deck.
