    Default Painting of Santissima Trinidad

I usually don't paint that much on the hulls of the ships. A small detail here and there, but never long lines.
This is why. I used to be very good at painting small details. Nowadays I'm not as good and it's harder to see the small details until I photograph the ships and put them here. Then I see every little mistake, and it annoys me. But here it is... work in progress.

Looking good! I'm still debating about putting the fine white lines on my copy. I have a very fine paint brush (insane detail brush), but my hand is no longer as steady nor is my eyesight as good as it used to be. The additional gun ports do look nice.

I hesitated about the lines too.
It's one of the most famous paint schemes though so I thought I should try.

By the way... Those sails are from a Spanish first rate and are the exact same sails as were used for the third rates in the original first wave ships. Can it be that the whole scale creep was a way to avoid using the second wave first rate masts, due to the masts breaking off problem? Smaller scale, lower masts...

Whatever the reason Jonas, and I must sat that your theory is the best I have heard yet for the scale creep, it has made it much easier for me to accept the addition of Langton miniatures to my fleets. After all the scale is no further out than the undersized Spanish are from First wave ships.

Very nice job.................the white lines are to small for me to paint. Like trying to rig the ship is not possible for me.

I decided to try the white lines as that is the most iconic paint for her, even though she had several paint schemes.

Magnificent Jonas, and plenty for me to go at trying to emulate your work. That is if I ever get time in this hectic round of Summer activities.

I'm working 50 hour weeks and training for the biking race of 300 km that I will do for the 18th time in three weeks.

For me it's a way to do something almost meditative in the otherwise so stressful living. Sometimes you just have to find the time.

Most of my hectic activities are of my own volition Jonas. that's the problem. Other than caring for my 91 year old Great Aunt with Altimeters, most of mt workload polarizes around these two sites and reenactments.

Now I feel really bad Jonas.
I have been doctoring ship cards for my Trafalgar Fleets all week and not getting to grips with my Trinidad at all.
She looks very good sir. A credit to both Clipper and yourself.

Yes, it's a very good model. I was surprised by the details on the casting. I thought we'd loose more details. Great work by Clipper.
