    Default Ahoi from Germany

    Greetings able seamen,

since yesterday i am the proud owner of the Sails of Glory starter set and will most likely be getting my first games in on wednesday.

I am a member of our local wargaming club and hope to get the historical wargamers into some naval warfare.

Sadly, Sails of Glory products are not easy to come by in Germany and often have to be ordered well in advance.

Next step will be a simple repaint with some washes and studying the rules intensively.

    Have a good one,
    Sascha

    Good evening Sascha.
At last after some tribulations here at the Anchorage we are back to normal and I can give you a formal welcome on behalf of the Fleet.
If you get stuck for models it is always wort giving an eye to our own Store here at the Anchorage.

http://www.aerodromeaccessories.com/ or you can get some ships at Entoyment from here in England.

    http://entoyment.co.uk/

Otherwise ask some of your shipmates who visit Germany from time to time. they may be willing to bring something over for you.

Whatever you decide, may you always sail with a fair wind and a willing enemy.

    Rob
The Business of the commander-in-chief is first to bring an enemy fleet to battle on the most advantageous terms to himself, (I mean that of laying his ships close on board the enemy, as expeditiously as possible); and secondly to continue them there until the business is decided.

Wilkommen to the Anchorage Sascha, from Land Locked Two Suns Aridzona!
What part of Deutschland do you hail from?
Some of my fondest memories was when I was fortunate enough to go there courtesy of the US Army in the 1980's.
    I loved it there.

Cheers lads for the warm welcome.

I am from Duesseldorf, near Cologne, close to the border of the netherlands.

Yesterday i managed to get in a game with just the basic rules, and i must say: It already feels great, the movement feels realistic, as does the combat.
I will probably notch it up tu standard rules for the next game.

Sadly the middle mast of my Aquilon suffered realistic damage during the battle, so i have to find a way to fix that first.
    Come all you bold sailors give an ear to my ditty, of a terrible battle that happened of late;
That each Union-Tar shed a tear of his pity, when he thinks on the once gallant Cumberland's fate.
