Pity they could not add a picture of her. 20 years is no age for a ship!

Here is one to make up for the omission. God bless her.

    Up spirits.

The Business of the commander-in-chief is first to bring an enemy fleet to battle on the most advantageous terms to himself, (I mean that of laying his ships close on board the enemy, as expeditiously as possible); and secondly to continue them there until the business is decided.

Adios to the ugliest ship in the fleet :)

I've had many enjoyable work moments with this ship, the latest of which was issuing her final round of safety certification to cover her time prior to handover to the BN. sh has done some fine work around the world in the last 20 years. Worth noting she was designed for quite a short life with many commercial features in her machinery and systems, and for a role that ended up rather different than that in which she has served pretty much her entire life. I will miss the old girl :)

So we're left with a pinnace, a cutter and 2 of the biggest aircraft carriers with no aircraft then?

Not entirely American, 15% of it is ours so the UK is earning quite nicely from he project, and the B variant only works because of British elements and technology in the design (I worked with some of the advanced materials guys in Dstl that solved many of the weight issues that would otherwise have killed it).

FOC flying trials later this Summer. One of the teams in our office is working on the flight safety clearances.

We got the F-35 training contract here at Luke Field, AZ, just 2 miles from my house. We get lots of fly overs every day. Beautiful birds!
