Default Possible Trafalgar Refight, Gloucestershire, October 21st 2018

In 2018 the 21st October falls on a Sunday. The earlier discussion about a Traf game at Doncaster next year prompted a hought. How about doing the whole battle in a large multi player game on the actual anniversary?

We have the ships, we have a likely venue**, do we have the interest? The ideal game would see one player controlling a single ship, but thats highly unlikely to be achievable. So each player with 2-3 ships seems doable so 20-30 players. And if we could manage a command and control structure with extra players taking on the roles of the various Admirals - and with a signalling system to limit communications then so much the better.

So, if you are interested in taking part please let me know by posting a suitable message below (please DO NOT send me a PM). If there is sufficient potential takeup then I'll enter into more serious negotiations with the pub (yes, gaming at a pub!). We have already run Midway there and there are plans to do Jutland there early(ish) next year.

The venue is the Tudor Arms pub in Slimbridge, Gloucestershire. More precisely the skittle alley. Beer (and cider) is good, the food excellent. Plenty of parking and they don't charge us for using the alley :)

I would love to be there Dave, but it will depend on having an excuse to visit Bristol that weekend.

The Business of the commander-in-chief is first to bring an enemy fleet to battle on the most advantageous terms to himself, (I mean that of laying his ships close on board the enemy, as expeditiously as possible); and secondly to continue them there until the business is decided.
