I should hopefully be there! Looking at previous posts, is this still at the Newark Showground (Next to the Air Museum)?

An entertaining day for me and Simon at least yesterday.
Unfortunately my poor French frigates were no match for Simons Pirates loosing every game.
We unfortunately did not get many punters join us unlike the Wings chaps, but those that did really enjoyed it and I do believe we are the reason both starter sets available at the show were sold.
So again those who stop and play are impressed enough to indulge but its getting people to play.
One of the starter sets was on sale from someone selling up as he had no one to play and so it was no use to him, bargain for the chap buying as it went for £40!

But for me its still a great game and I enjoyed the day, looking forward to the next show in a couple of weeks at Hammerhead

Even with this setback and grounding of another Chilean ship which we see being towed off the sandbar, the Spanish were finally defeated with no ships having escaped to sea.

Here we see the third ship joining the entanglement.
As they could not seem to unentangle the British continually raked by the French with one point left, and then they all shot each other from the Tops for about 20 minutes until the French ran out of men.
The Two British ships then unentangled, at which the second Frenchman left who had taken no part in the action.
    made his getaway.

    Thus endeth Hammerhead 2018.

Great pics Rob, this years Hammerhead was very enjoyable, the first hour was quiet but then we had people playing until late in the afternoon, altogether I estimate around 20 punters tried out the game and I spoke to a further half dozen about ships, models and gameplay, an all around good day

Great set of battles. I especially love the pirate ships (red and black sails are very impressive). It even looks like you had repeat players coming back to play? That's always a good sign. Thanks again for the photos and AAR's.

Also did the enlarged card set get to you as the E-mail seemed reluctant to send it and then it finally seemed to go.
That usually means it is too big to transmit.

Damned nuisance these pop up blockers, and damned nuisance if you disable them too.

It is odd that you can't see them under Firefox because I have Firefox myself.
It may be a setting in your browser that is the problem, or some of your permissions which are causing the problem.

Just got this message in this afternoon so we must be doing something right shipmates.

    Hi Robert

Thank you taking the time to talk to me at the Hammerhead show. I'm the tall guy asking lots of questions about the terrain you made :)

You mentioned that the building were from a bunch of suppliers and to drop you a line for more details.

Any help greatly appreciated as I'm looking for inspiration to get myself some terrain built to go with my Napoleonic Fleets (lots of ships that have never seen action)

Sounds good Rob and your scenery really made an impact on the games as shown by the interest.

It is strange that I can see your photographs from Hammerhead on the Aerodrome website, Rob, without any problems but using the same web browser I cannot see them here.

I would think that is something to do with the settings on the Anchorage then Dave.
Only the people in charge of the Server possibly know the answer to that one. I know that even my Admin settings on here are a bit different because I don't get informed about new members posts needing ratification, nor items waiting to go into the files.

It must have something to do with the cookies. I couldn't see them. I signed out, got a message that the cookies were cleared, and could see the thumbnails as a guest. When I clicked on one, it informed me that I wasn't signed in. I signed in, and all of the pictures were there!

Thank you very much, Dobbs! I cleared the cookies and browser history, logged out, looked at the thumbnails and logged in again and I can now see the photographs in their full glory.

    Well done Dobbs.
I never thought about cookies when I told Dave to clear his Browser history.
Glad to see things back to normal now Dave.
