    Default Tactics Night 2017

This may be of interest to some here - my latest blog entry covers “Tactics Night 2017” – an educational application of our hobby wherein naval architect and marine engineering MSc students get to try wargaming with the ships they are designing…..

Very interesting to see some of the things you do away from the Anchorage Dave.
    Thanks for that little insight.
i also read a few more of the articles in your Blog whilst I was there.
    Nice cat bye the way.

The Business of the commander-in-chief is first to bring an enemy fleet to battle on the most advantageous terms to himself, (I mean that of laying his ships close on board the enemy, as expeditiously as possible); and secondly to continue them there until the business is decided.

Thanks for that David. My Farther does something like that. He goes to 2nd'ry Schools and lectures about engineering as a career.

That's good to hear. Anyone trying to get the youth of today interested in engineering is a hero in my book :)

    Indeed it is Dave.
I'm glad to hear that you chaps are carrying the baton onward, since I retired from the fray some 10 years ago.

    Intersting read, David.

In case of ship design I had to think of HMS Prince of Wales, that was heavily damaged by an unlucky hit in the ship's screw. The pure power of the ongoing rotation (bevor they could shut the engines off) damaged the ship's inner life that badly, that the fate of the ship was sealed.
