    Default Nice Sailing Primer

Found this in a box of my dad's books - turns out to be a good beginner's guide to sailing . . . maybe it will help if I ever play . . . : )

Looks like a good book for gaining an insight into the basics of sailing Dave.
    A very nice find indeed.

Methinks that the French at Doncaster could have done with it as well Sven.

Is there a book that deals with three masted ships and the added complexity?

You can pick up second hand copies.
I got mine from Dave Manley after I asked the same question as Lance.
It has everything you could think of and often translated into several languages for comparison.

Very interesting, I am working up an r/c scale model of the US Constitution with working linked sails and rudder - not much out there on square riggers. I will likely find out why . . .

Are you going to write one of your usual superb construction stage by stage pieces for us on here Dave? I for one would be very interested to follow your build in detail.

Will do. Hope to have my hands back working soon, bone and joint erosion slowing me down a bit : (

Really sorry to hear that Dave.
Why do we all seem to get these ailments in the parts which we rely on for our hobbies the most.
My failing eyesight is a great example, but the loss of hand skills would be even worse.
I do hope that you manage to regain the use of your hands quickly.
    All my best wishes Rob.
