    Default Paper ship source

    Greetings Mates;
    I had this site linked from the SOG Yahoo group; the modeler sells PHFs of paper ship models.
    Currently he has ships from the AWI Lake Champlain actions, but is working on some 1813 Great Lakes ships.

    These are smalles ships than SOG will be sailing with, but I thought it was worth a look-see.

    Nice find. It gives us some options until Ares gets a variety of ships produced.

    Jeff, THE War Artisan, is always updating his line of ships. He has a line of 1/900th scale ships that are easily scaled to the 1000th scale of SoG. In fact, the beauty of paper ships is scalability and repeatability for duplicate ships or when you mess up! He often runs games with his ships at the Seven Years Wars Association Convention. Check out his Flickr page for photos.

    Just played in a Lake Champlain game at Millennium 15 Convention in Round Rock (Austin, Texas area) using the paper ships. The ships really look good and I didn't realize they were paper at first glance. The lake ships are 1/300 but as Lance said there are some 1/900 ocean ships. There is a free download of a 64-gun SOL.

    The ships look interesting.

    But I always think on my co-gamers:

    Placing the beer bottle on the paper ship - grab it with chips fingers, etc...:eek:

    Laminated paper...grease proof paper...card stock...ships will be able to float in a sea of beer!
