Mine was due last November, so it is another thing to try and sort out for the members.

Hmm, a medal might bring me out of my hibernation ...I can be bought, probably cheaper than I thought...

Thanks Rob, I feel I might not have blabbered enough either. What to do? Well I'll post a nice link to a review of a new book on naval guns ;)

    It should be 2000 posts.
You may well be there before the medal is ready, if we can get it sorted.

As mentioned in another post I've suggested that a couple of times previously. Those that qualify deserve the recognition.

I'm still chasing my year 3 but have a way to go post wise. But I agree there should be a year 4 possibly a 5 and onwards too.

I have just passed three years, so a four year medal would be my next target.

It should be for what you post and for how long. Not how many posts. It is easy to post the numbers!

And who is going to take the time and effort to arbitrate that Rory?
What criteria would be used to decide what was a worthy post and which just failed to make it.
Who is to say what one person finds useful and another regards as coals to Newcastle. (With apologies to Neil)

On that one you are right Rob. As Paul said above most members do not last more than 3 years. I have seen many folks come and go in my time on this site. I have seen posts with only a "Smiley face" on it, Or saying only "Hi". I've seen posts like novels.
The "Big Crash" did not help. I saw the numbers drop of older members after that sad day. I think it should be How long and not the number of posts.
Like the British navy of the time "Filling dead mans shoes" (Not the best way of saying it)
Long term members like Vol post little, but has been around for a long time. David M, has always been posting from the start. I do not wish to kick the nest Rob. Just my thinking of it all.

    Hi Rory.
I always panic when innovation is mentioned, because I know that out of the three or four Administrators, one will have to pick up the ball, and with life outside also making more demands as we and our dependents get older, it is enough work just to keep on top of what is going on without any more. Nevertheless, your suggestion does have mileage, and we do have a word with posters who just emoticate without any real genuine input.
    Thanks for your reply.
    Rob.

    Thanks Rob,
This is understood. We all wait and like to get our promotion's and medals (me too!). I do not add my posts to new members etc, as I feel it looks as if I'm clocking-up posts for promotions. I must say than is just me. I'm a sad case.
I do not like the way that Ares works. It's scale, its peg in the ship (not in the base) and only getting ships info with the model. It makes folk do "copy right" braking. Just to get bigger fleets. It also makes it hard to use the ships for other rules or other ships for this game.
So I use too post a lot before the game was on the shelves. I, like a fool thought my input may help players, Anchorage Members and Ares.
Saying all that I have good friends on this site and always try and help.
Thanks for your input and all your work on this site.
    Be safe
    Rory

I fancy that having 2,000 elves, time to post at all, and having a 4 year old grandson should entitle one to a medal! : ) Just joking of course . . .

Never mind Chris, that is another one towards your last 41 needed.
Look how long it took me to get there.

If it's 5yr/2500, that's another bauble needed then...

Thanks for having my back on Upgun BHR, by the way--now we have to hope the Andreas listen on statting, since I cited you.
