    Default New stern gallery

I've exchanged the stern gallery of one of my tonnant-conversations.

I got the idea from our ship expert Julián. Thank you. It's Langton sterns for French 80 gun ships.

I never really liked the Téméraire stern gallery on the Sails of Glory ships and now it will be a little easier to point out which is an 80 gun and which is normal 74s.

I'll note that it's an old conversion that I just continued on.
It's two Commerce cut off and put together with an extra gun midships.

Have you taken any pictures of the process of exchanging the stern?

I have cut off the stern gallery. It's a little hard as the ship is finished but by cutting from the lower part of the side and working up makes it a little easier. I then cut down following the seam between the parts. You have to cut the rudder from the stern gallery too.

Yea, very cool. I've often thought that the rear of the ships from sog look very bland.

I think that it differs much between the ships. The French 74 is not good, but the British is ok.

Julián, thanks. And thanks to you for the idea of using Langton stern galleries.

    Jonas,
How do you get the Langton sterns? That is a costly re-do if you must buy a Langton hull each time you need a new stern.

No, I just asked for the sterns and some other bits and pieces with my order. They gave me a fair price and I bought them.
    Langton was very accommodating.

This modification was easy to do but I won't do it on all my Téméraires anyway. To much work for too little effect.
It was worth doing it to these two conversions to make them stand out a little more, I think.
