    Default Update on Wave 3

    Got this update on boardgamegeek:

"Wave 3 is in pre-production now (all prototyping complete, mold-making in progress).

If all goes well, we might be able to ship it out of factory in Feb/March 2016.

Wave 3 will include 4 important new ship types, including the first "true" Spanish ships in the line (Nepomuceno and Meregildos), Artesien class and Portland class.

To keep you entertained in the meantime, we are working together with Andrea & Andrea on a little surprise, that we'll announce in a few weeks.

We are also prototyping wave 4, which will feature one of the ships "voted" by our Anchorage fans - John Paul Jones' Bonhomme Richard, French 80-guns ships of the line, English 64 guns, and Spanish frigates of the Mahonesa class. We expect wave 4 to be released around the end of 2016."

Very nice to finally get some news from Ares, and it was Roberto himself who replied.

I wonder what the surprise might entail?

I'll get the Bucentaure or better the Tonnat!

Does that include the updated six week delay for the KS WW 1 bombers Ares just posted? Probably not.

I was half expecting that Jim.
After two different companies and six years of this sort of thing, plus an American Dock strike, I am learning to just go with the flow. Worrying about it just gives you ulcers.

I imagine the 'Big Surprise' might be the fleet rules?

I hope its not a price rise......

I hope so too Richard, and from what happened last weekend we certainly need the Fleet rules.

Ah well more delays...only to be expected. As they say they will get here when they get here and not before. (Unless they are shot down that is!)

Could the surprise be the Santisima Trinidad?

    As a special pack?

    That would be cool.

Agreed. It's just a sign of current production flow from the Far East. Having multiple hobbies is the only way to go at this juncture.

That would be cool, but I' m going to guess it's something that doesn't involve production queues from China? If not the fleet rules maybe they'll be sponsoring another contest of some sort?

The Santisima Trinidad would certainly make up for a lot of things, but I'm afraid it will be as Jim says, something with a short lead in time and no strings.

Maybe a FAQs list, some more scenarios or more optional rules. Could they produce some more Captain cards, perhaps?

    Fantastic news!

I can only wish for Santissima Trinidad, but I agree that the surprise would probably be something not including models.

So... In half a year I will buy Spanish ships and some smaller 3rd and 4th rates. Probably a little over ten ships. In almost another year from that, I will buy even more ships, probably something like 4 or 5 Tonnant (I hope), a few Ardent (I hope), a few Spanish frigates and several merchantmen. That's probably 30 ships in total. I'd better start saving now.

Desperate for 64's and 80's. Have just about everything else I require. Probably could do with some more 74's though.

Want of Frigates was Nelson's problem, but I agree with Neil. 64s and 80s are what we need.
