To make Tiger, I used the Golden Hind ship Zvezda, but I had to make some modifications, using the ship Revenge.

Hi, I add a comparative photo but you have to keep in mind that Tiger is only a 10 guns and the Dutch boat is a 80 guns.

That is really impressive work Julian.
The How to is really inspiring. Do you have examples of the Revenge and Golden Hind to illustrate the difference?
I would give Rep, but must spread it around first.

I can not take a picture with the two ships. When I send it to my client, I ask him to take a picture to compare sizes. While you can get an idea of the size picture I've seen online.

I will be happy to take pictures of Golden Hind alongside Revenge and also San Martin, when she arrives. I have posted Julian's photographs and a few of my own on my Blog:

    http://horseandmusket2.blogspot.com/...ravelines.html

Julian and I decided to make Golden Hind into Tiger since Golden Hind was decommissioned after Drake's circumnavigation and therefore was not available to fight the Armada in 1588. Tiger on the other hand, a light galleon of similar dimensions to Golden Hind, did fight in 1588, in Admiral Howard's squadron. She is less than half the size of Revenge but a very beautiful ship. We have found that Zvezda's model of San Martin, the former Săo Martinho when in Portuguese service, though another beautiful ship, is too small in comparison with Revenge. However she makes a fine San Mateus or similar medium sized Spanish Galleon. Now we need a suitably sized San Martin.

    Thanks for the reply Michael.
It all sounds most complex to me.
I will await your pictures which I'm sure will make it all clear.

And now I'm thinking of Monty Python's "Tudor Jobs Agency" sketch, and "The Life Of Sir Philip Sidney"....

(How cool would that be as a TV show: A British Police Inspector who flashes back to a life as a Tudor-era English nobleman -- or is he a Tudor-era English nobleman flashing forward to a time when he's a British Police Inspector? And each life is aware of the other, but is unsure "is this the real life, is this just fantasy".... >;) )
