Thread: WHO AM I ?

    Default WHO AM I ?

I found these in box of unfinished models from many years ago and am not positive what they are. My best guess is they're Langton's.
Can anyone correct or confirm what I think they are?

Rory and/or Vol will probably be able to tell you right off the top of their heads? Nice crisp detail, which is not typical of some of the Langton's I've received lately (I think some of the molds are wearing out?).

With the separate sterns those are definitely Langton ships, as GHQ and others are always one piece castings!

In my opinion those ships are french. The drawings in the crowning of the stern are not spanish. On the other hand, the yellow and black were the most used colors in the spanish ships. The first on the top can be a 80 guns and 2 deckers french ship. The second, in the middle, can be a 74 guns and 2 deckers french ship. The last can be a 40 guns french frigate.

Juan, disregard the paint scheme, if memory serves, (if it served I'd remember what ships these were) the colors were picked at random to identify the player not the nationality. We weren't so picky back in the day.

The old Skytrex Triton range used to come with seperate sterns also, so could be one of theirs.
I believe this range is now owned by Red Eagle Miniatures

I think the only 1/1200's I bought from Skytrex were Russians, but I could be wrong.

I was thinking about sending the pictures to Rod if they can't be identified here.

The second ship could be the "César". It was a 74 guns french ship of the line.

They certainly look like Langton's to me, but I couldn't tell you which ones (despite having a bunch of them!).

    Hi Ed,
Sorry only saw this tonight. I have no Langton Spanish ships (yet). I could not help you with this, but would not like you to think I would not try and help.
