    Hello everyone,
I want to share with a new exciting project.
This is the 1577 HMS Revenge.
The boat is a 1/350 scale and it is an order of a particular. I'll post pictures as soon as I advance the construcion of the ship.

Best regards and hope you like it,
    Julián.

I think the illustration is by Joseph Wheatley. It would be very helpful to confirm the reasonableness if not the authenticity of the colour scheme used in the illustration. It appears to follow the Mathew Baker drawings which many believe to be for Revenge, although there are other interpretations.

Julián, this will be exciting to see. We have had others post larger-scale projects, and all were followed with keen interest. Some of the details are remarkable. Looking forward to watching your progress.

This is the rather nice Zvezda kit for "Armada Invincible" isn't it? I have a couple in the games room awaiting some spare time for me to put them together :)

Zvezda makes some nice model kits, and they are not too costly. I picked up some 1:200 planes for WGS - very pleased with them.

    Exactly David,
It's a ship of Svezda brand, very well priced and with a escepcional quality.

I have posted a few images on my Blog of Sir Oswald Brierly's Victorian interpretation of both Revenge and Săo Martinho. I'm fortunate to have prints of etchings of both works.

Wonderful! The deck and hull detail on this model is really showing up nicely with all the work you're doing with the paint and washes.

How quickly she moves from plastic to looking like actual wood.

Has anyone played Armada Invincible recently? Worth purchasing?

No but there is an interesting set of rules covering the Armanda period called "Spanish Fury Sail!" which is part of a system of rules covering 16th century warfare. The best part is that they are free (not including your printer ink of course!:

Eric, that is a pretty cool website. They have a broad collection of rules for various types of warfare from the period. I am impressed that all they ask, if one is willing, is to make a donation to one of several charities. I will return to this site once break hits. Thank you for sharing the link.

No problem. I like their style of rules if you will. They are generally morale driven. The graphics are great as well in the Sail rules you can download cardboard stand up ship counters if you don't happen to have 16th century ship miniatures. They specialize in periods that are not well covered by other rules for the most part.

Hello, add some photos of how the Revenge progresses.

The next thing I painted are the black lines.

Finally, it has now come the day to face the complex framework of HMS Revenge ... I hope you like it. I have not finished, it is only the first layer of paint that indicate me where I have to paint shadows and highlights.

Really coming together now. The deck details and hull are so perfect. Queen Elizabeth I would approve. Of course she'd invest in a privateering venture with the owner at the first opportunity. Ever the Corsair Queen.
