Is it just me or is anyone else getting intermittent "Database Error" messages while trying to navigate the site?
Got one earlier... these glitches seem to be becoming more frequent.
Maybe i uploaded to many pictures today?
Just started doing it again. Other websites work fine. I get the site back if I keep hitting "Refresh."

The choppy waves give the server seasickness .
Yes, there have been server issues over the last two days... hopefully they are over with now. As to the Anchorage vs. Aerodrome... they are on different servers still. The Aerodrome is on much better and much more expensive server.
I just didn't want to be seen as the, "Thread Pirate Roberts" and get too far off topic.
I kept getting 'Database Error' earlier when I tried getting onto this site.

I got it also, and its more worst the before!
I'm still having problems tonight.
I find it ironic (and irritating) that I gave money to this site, but not to the other one, and which one runs better?
I just tried to post a new quiz picture and it wouldn't post after multiple tries along with still constantly getting Database Error messages.

Almost impossible to use the site this evening. I've almost worn out my mouse repeatedly clicking on "Refresh" to get pages to show. I'm afraid folks are going to quit coming to the site if it keeps doing this.
Sounds like time to start taking donations to fund an upgrade... if we figure $5/member/month, how many contributors would we need to fund a setup equal to the Aerodrome?
The problem is getting too serious to ignore.
I'm not very knowledgeable on websites and servers. Does anyone have an idea what the problem could be? Is a more powerful server needed? Is the company handling the server not very good? Right now I'm not having any problems. Is it time related, that is are other sites are using the same server at peak times.

I believe the subject of using the same type of server as the Aerodrome came up before and it was stated that the Anchorage does not come close to having the server needs of the Aerodrome.
You mean the site that's giving me database errors this morning?
IMHO a site not running properly is not a good reason to blindly throw money at it.
Atm i must reload the side about 5-8 times to load properly.
This server su**s atm, maybe the provider should fix his stuff.
To be clear, i don't mean any here from anchorage i mean the company which has the server.
It has been bad all day and seems to be getting worse. Maybe we should move our discussions over to the Sails Of Glory forum at Board Game Geek until the problem is fixed. It is not as good as the Anchorage, when the Anchorage is working, but at least we could keep interest up and conversations going in the interim.

Or the Aerodrome, which would better highlight to The Management that "Houston YOU Have A Problem."
Has anyone any idea what the problem is? Is someone investigating it? Do we have a member with sufficient expertise to fix it?
I thought about that but I don't how the non-Anchorage members at the Aerodrome would feel about us adding all our SOG posts to the already high volume of WOG traffic there. One benefit of using BGG would be that when the Anchorage was fixed, we might bring some new members with us when we switch back. Of course that assumes it gets fixed.
I've put a support ticket in with the server host, but I've not heard back yet.

I been getting database errors again in the past 30 mins time now 1630 BST
And ~0850 Pacific.

Yup, database errors this morning. I refresh the page two or three times rapidly and it starts working again. Appears to be a latency problem.
The site is still borked.

OK this morning, database errors late last night to 2AM. Had to hit refresh button to bring it up.
I've been logged on for a couple of hours with no problems. However, there were days in the past week where the site could be used for about 2 hours with no problems then for next 2 be quite aggravating to use.
For the record, getting hammered with DB errors--and I don't think it's Keith's fault, my suspicion is it's more whoever he has the hosting contract with.
