Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm very nice............Now to get the ships........like the Trinidad, Santa Anna etc.
I have lmost completed collecting the entire 1st and second wave of ships............Now the Spanish , I also have 3 pirate frigates to test just need my FTF group back from summer vacation.
Next step and I'm back to the workbench.
Ready for rigging. . .but touch up and sealer comes first. It's too humid to do the sealer so hopefully tomorrow?

The first Santisima Trinidad I did was a Langton mini and I used decals to get the white and black lines rather than risking my hand painting. In the interim I discovered a seller of graphic charting tape used in drafting (before CAD, etc.). That's what I used for most of the lines. It holds well on initial placement, but you really need to put a sealer down to make sure it stays put. I think they might have sold all the white, but they still have black.

The tape is a great idea, Jim. I am learning how folks on the 'Drome are using decals and stickers on planes, especially to accomplish patterns on wings and fuselages.

The painting and decals on the Aerodrome are very impressive. I've been tempted to try painting a plane at some point, but then I look at the Langton, GHQ and SoG ships still waiting on the bench and think better of it.
I finished up the Santisima Trinidad early this evening. It might be fun to put this into a game at some point, but I have no idea how I'd configure the ship log or if the base card and lifted "Ocean" stats are appropriate? If any of our experts wish to chime in I wouldn't mind.
While I kit bashed this ST to 140 guns (Three Decks indicates this configuration in 1805) I've read elsewhere she may not have had that many guns at Trafalgar? There's also a lot of conflicting information as to how she was painted at Trafalgar, but I went with the 'popular' version. Originally I think she was buff/yellow and black?
The Anchorage brass ratlines really make the ship stand out, and once again I used the Wave 1 SGN102 set to complete the model. Cheers and enjoy the photos!

Seeing it - yeah, I am sure you should sneak one of your minis onto the record table. I am confident if these ships were at Origins, folks would go nuts. I would love to have a setup like Rory's, too. I think it would be a real draw as well as add a lot to the players' experience.

The Trinidad had a lot of problems though, she had a big crew, but they were not the same quality as the Brits or French. I would go with 136 guns, musketry roughly the same as the French, a burden of 6, but she had very poor maneuvering characteristics therefore a veer of 3, and the worst maneuvor deck possible. She was top heavy due to her fourth deck. But she would definately have a bigger broadside than an ocean class................ouch
Here's the thing, though... a lot of her broadside was small guns. Fire a twelve-pounder at HMS Victory and you might as well just turn around and fart in Nelson's general direction...

Lower Gun Deck 4 Spanish 4-Pound Pederoso @4.05#ea = 8.1# broadside
(why here? You want those in position to REPEL BOARDERS; and Obusiers need to AIM HIGH as indirect-fire weapons--I think these are really Deck 4)
Lower Gun Deck 32 Spanish 36-Pounder @36.43#ea = 582.88# broadside
Middle Gun Deck 34 Spanish 24-Pounder @24.29#ea = 412.93# broadside
Upper Gun Deck 36 Spanish 12-Pounder @12.14#ea = 218.52# broadside
Quarterdeck/Forecastle 18 Spanish 8-Pounder @8.1#ea = 72.9# broadside
Aggregate total 1489.65# broadside, only about 1200# of shot being of weight for real structural damage, ~200 of which was indirect-fire for lobbing into masts, rigging or to drop on decks. She's big and looks intimidating, but Hibernia throws almost as much (1476, including 256# worth of 32# carronade)--and statistically more of it in weights that deal real damage against SOL's (18# and up, when used in quantity).
even if she gets the same gunnery as Hibernia, that's still pretty nice.
Plus, maybe now we know what Ares was saving "the last hull box" for (i.e., the one box left empty on the first rates...)
Yes, I'd be satisfied with the Hibernia gunnery for the ST.
Outside of gunnery data would the ST firing arcs be substantially different than any of the current 1st Rates?

My other two conversions were Surprise and Indefatigable both frigates with one row of ports. This beastie has four!

Actually Chris, I think your card and mat are much better. You've definitely got a better font then what I used and the stats will likely change as well.

My Sanatisima Trinidad is now in piesces. I acted on a post by someone here of soaking the model in alchohol. Now painting will be much easier. Stay tuned.

Oh... soaking the MODEL in alcohol. I've tried soaking the painter...
I was also wondering if Bob's model objected to being soaked in alcohol before he painted her. When you mentioned the painter getting soaked, I realized that I am often soaked myself.
