Can anyone tell me what font was used for the ship names on the base inserts? I'd like to make some new inserts with different ship names.

    Thanks.

I wouldn't mind knowing what font that is as well. It would look cool on the ship boxes I made

It's hard to say without the 'official' word from Ares. There are many fonts that are quite similar, but from this nifty site, which I've used in the past, it may be close to or actually "Monotype Modern Condensed"

    http://www.identifont.com/show?RZ

But it might also be Escrow: http://www.identifont.com/show?HOO

    Or Madison Antiqua: http://www.identifont.com/show?2BEZ

Check this out if you'd like to explore other similar fonts: http://www.identifont.com/identify.html

Did some further 'testing' and now I think it might be closer to "Bodoni"?

Yikes - they all look the same to me! But I'll take your word for it, the Bondoni looks great and I'll use it. Thanks so much for your help.

If you're not in a hurry you might just wait for Keith to chime in? He's obviously used the font for the Anchorage Accessories items so I'm going to guess he knows the actual font to use?

Btw, Jed, Welcome to the Anchorage!

For my ships I use the regular "Paint" program for editting the ship bases. So I found the using the Algerian font is really close to that on the origionals. Besides, use your own imagination you are the one's creating the ship base, so use some poetic licence and have fun with it.

Just checked this out, and it seems to be Bondoni Classic Condensed plus.

No problem, I may continue to use the old font ones anyway myself! I was just interested to see what they would look like with a font truer to the sails originals!

Bit late for welcoming Jed to the Anchorage Dave, but as we all seem to have missed out the first time round, I will add my welcome to yours if I may.

Does anyone have a recommendation as to where to get this font?

I think I have it! The font is Bauer Bodoni LT Condensed Bold. The letter "R" and all of the numbers match. Classic's "R" was not the same, and the numbers were not an exact match.

I had a look for this font and it seems not to have a free download. As such, I may just give it a miss. Well researched though!

Sorry, I didn't take note of what the site was named though. I will try and look later.

There's this thread concerning the font as well?

I used Bodoni MT Condensed (which was already installed on my version of Windows/Word), and bolded it manually, and I was happy enough with the match
