Default After Action Report Part2 with pics

Ahoy me hearties, Last instalment of our three game storyline. Firstly as stated previously I use compass dice rather than drawing chits for random wind direction these are from SnMstuff.

After the last engagement HMS Vanguard SOL badly damaged limped away later she sought refuge in the lea of some islets trying to make herself seaworthy enough to cross the channel. Whilst HMS Spartiate SOL sits of shore on guard. Two French frigates Unite and Hermione undamaged from the last fight have been in pursuit but keeping distance. Now they come within distance and Spartiate moves to engage.

The French win the scenarios overall.

The astute will notice that we had to move an islet mid game as Captain Smith sailed straight into it. The tale of his sailing prowess to fill taverns for years to come.

    Very nice, Rick.

    The aesthetics are quite eye-catching.

I will look for the dice. Where did you get the land tiles?

    Thanks for the report!

so does this mean 2 frigates CAN take out an SOL? Was there smart maneuvering on the French part, and/or mistakes by the British that helped lead to that outcome?

Fred, Credit for the French tactics goes to Capt Monsieur Neil Bruce, though if you look at the relative point values they are the same ie Spartiate equals both Hermione and Unite so I guess they got that one right. Though I feel that the frigates do have to get first shots and raking to stand half a chance.

Thanks all, the way I use the compass dice is roll one for initial direction then each turn re-roll if new direction within one point of difference then wind indicator is adjusted. However maybe others can come up with a better usage.

    Neat scenario Rick.
    A very entertaining little action.
I have heard of those floating islands, very dangerous.
    Bligh.
