    Book Title:
Warships of the Anglo-Dutch Wars 1652-74
    Author:
    Angus Konstam
    ISBN:
    978-1-84908-410-9
    Category:
    Reference
    Format:
    Paperback
    Summary:
Konstam provides a great introduction to English and Dutch ship design and development, including information on specific shipwrights of the period, while comparing/contrasting the two nations naval philosophies. He discusses operational issues such as manpower, ordinance, and tactics.

Throughout the book is a range of black-and-white and color paintings, drawings, and illustrations. There are several charts, including a multi-page chart delineating all the major warships of both fleets during the period.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in the ships of the period. Though historical battles are briefly touched upon, this book is more oriented toward technical information than narratives.

I own this book, so if you ever need anything from it or others I have, please let me know. Other titles can be found in my photo albums - Age of Sail Library (non-fiction and fiction).
