    Very well written and researched by a former seafarer and author of Nathaniel Drinkwater series. Solid read that takes a broad subject and does a good job of presenting it without being too dry. Somewhat dense but always interesting and relevant. Good if you have a basic knowledge and want more information on a wide range of nautical history.
