Mike and I have been chatting about this and other projects in our regular Sunday international wargaming Zoom chats :)
Ares had a plan (as did the Cylons), Santissima Trinidad and Indefatigable as special packs, a trio of merchants that could serve ad auxiliary warships (including HMS Bounty and a Xebec). It would be...
Plastic models cost a fortune to set up (a sprue / frame costs in the region of £25,000) so they are only going to be used for volume sellers, items in starter sets etc. There is a minimum size for...
Smaller ships such as the schooner have been in white metal and in sets of six. I'm guessing things like the new galleys and xebecs will be too
1/700 - ish
The scale is good for the larger ships, but some of the smaller ships are upscaled to make the models bigger
First two links come up as "403 Forbidden"
Classics all, and top of my recommended reading list. I hope some Anchorage members are lucky in these auctions.
Nope, not even that. And my plan to spoil myself with a new laptop has taken a hit as our ground source heat pump has died, taking out the hot water and central heating - new controller needed and...
I got absolutely nothing to do with wargaming, naval or otherwise this year. We were happy just to have time with each other.
I did get a rice cooker and a soda stream however
I did delegate a few wargaming projects once. Didn't end well.....
Add another 10 hours to the day? L)
No, I need to just knuckle down and get some projects finished rather than endless starting new ones :D
I have applied a similar system to all those, plus a generic campaign system, but they've fallen in amongst so many other projects and not got the attention they deserve to finish them off. Perhaps...
I would be more than happy if you suggested it to them (doing so myself would seem presumptuous)
Three would work, but it would be interesting to see whether the players remembered the "campaign" aspect and had any ships left after the end of the first battle
Having seen some discussion elsewhere that suggested this was of interest, the following is a link to a campaign pack I put together for "Form Line of Battle" covering the Coromandel campaign of...
Because carronades are only effective at short range. And because the RN's 24pdr was proving itself to be an extremely good weapon - lighter than the 32pdr long gun but a higher muzzle velocity,...
We played out 1866 Lissa in the island itself when I was there with friends for the 150th anniversary of the battle
I also took a pile of Ares ships with suitably modified mats and cards...
Same thing happened to me, but a quick check in the spam folder and notifying the filter that the Anchorage and Aerodrome were trusted has sorted the problem.
There are quite a few sets of rules out there that cover this period. I've published three - "Iron and Fire" which is a fairly detailed set, "Dahlgren and Columbiad" which is a faster play set, and...
Welcome aboard Henry, it's great to see you here
I would go for home made cards around 50% larger than the originals. I actually did something very similar around 3o years ago using movement cards and modified Airfix Shannons and it worked - and...
Continental navy will be a welcome addition and one I'll be going for as I have more of an interest in smaller ship actions than fleet actions with SOG. Just need to decide ona cost effective method...
Just heard that a 1/1000 printed option has been added to the Kickstarter.
Just heard that Henry is likely to add a 1/1000 option to his kickstarter
