South! Was written by Sir Ernest himself and really gives a very accurate account of what happened, minus the fight he had with the carpenter, which is actually quite an important detail to leave...
Indeed I have seen it. I’ve had the pleasure of corresponding with Seb Coulthard himself. A wonderfully friendly gentleman indeed.
I think the closest we’ll ever see to a real life leader like Aubrey was Sir Ernest Shackleton. One can’t read “South!” By Sir Ernest or “Endurance” by Lansing and not come away inspired. Probably...
I’ve seen this talk and the gentleman does an outstanding job. He’s also the curator of the models collection, my dream job!
Not exactly the same era...

This is absolutely stunning!
Simply gorgeous.
Thank you!
I have many more, but the rest are all quite a bit larger at 1/700 scale
One might also consider cutting down 1/700 shrouds. I’ve done this before and the results are arguably better. Had I not on hand enough 1/1000 shrouds for 2 ships I would have gone the route of using...
The difference between 1200 and 1000 would be unnoticeable. I’m sure the Langton offerings are quite nice
Sadly they’re long since out of production.
Thanks everyone,
The shrouds are photo etched stainless steel.
Thanks!!!! Glad to be here
Here are some more small ships,

Thank you everyone! Happy to be here.
I’ve updated my other thread in the modeling section with my other tiny ships
Greetings!!
I thought I’d introduce myself with my most recent model, HMS Pandora, 1791. She’s fully scratch built.
The hull is basswood, masts are brass, and the sails are linen paper.

Greetings!
Thanks for allowing me aboard! While I don’t play SoG, I do enjoy building small-scale historic ship models from scratch. The more detail the better!
I’m interested in seeing the work and joining...
