On your Pacific Voyage to Tahiti is Captain Bligh going to risk a stopover in the Pitcairn Islands on the way?
Attachment 22906
Attachment 22907
Oh absolutely Dave.
Bligh.
Getting a bit worried as we near the Islands Dave.
Something other than beer seems to be brewing Mr Christian.

Remember Tahiti is a "Magical Place".
Where then, Tonga?
Can't see your attachments Dave.
Rob.
Are they any better now, Rob?
Got them now Dave.
Thanks.
I will reposte tomorrow.
Got a game to play now.
Rob.
Finally reached Tahiti.

Breadfruit project underway.
Bligh.
I see a "Maka" beer from Tonga in an earlier post. I've actually tried it while holiday in Tonga a couple of years ago. While I'm pleased I drank a few, and helped the island economy, I can't recommend it. As an aside I was on the islands of Foa and Lafuka which are in the Ha'apai Island group. This is the island group where the mutiny of the Bounty took place.
Tonga is made of three island groups, Ha'apai is the least developed and almost no tourists go there. Our highlight was without doubt snorkelling with humpback whales, it certainly was not the beer.
Mutiny sir! Mutiny. I'll have no talk of mutiny here.
Breadfruit. That's what this voyage is about. Breadfruit and beer.
Bligh.
Seeing you are on the Pacific themes something from Raratonga
Attachment 22969
Now one from Samoa, not one I would recommend for its flavour.
Attachment 22970
However, when drunk with a fine view, such as that from Lalomanu beach, it can be rather rewarding.
Attachment 22971
To complete my Pacific Island theme I'll pop over to the island of Niue, population less than 1000 and no local brewery. Instead beer like all supplies are shipped in by a single container ship which arrives every 4 to 6 weeks. Everything is off loaded by barge and taken to the small jetty. Here was a ship being unloaded with beer, while we were there.
Attachment 22972
There was one aircraft per week in the tourist season when we visited three years ago. Tourists are allowed to bring a small quantity of canned beer in. Possibly important as the island has run out of beer on occasion.
And to set the scene, a photo of one of the few places to swim, on the coast. The reef is right next to the rock island that is pushed up almost vertically out of the sea.
Attachment 22973
Below, where Captain Cook tried to land but failed. You can possibly see how deep the water is near the land. I swam further out in the bay, where the beer is being unloaded and perhaps a km from land, with whales. I was told the trench was 5km deep by the guide. Niue is just punched up from the sea.

Idyllic scenery there Keith, and now the breadfruit is loaded it's on to the Friendly Islands and homeward bound.

That is beautiful scenery, Keith.
There are many places to visit now, but perhaps you should go to Tuvalu before it sinks beneath the waves.Attachment 22982Attachment 22983
The hands seem very restless but, on our arrival at Tonga we found this special brew.
