Meantime here is the Facia for the church which I added today.
I also turned the spire for the dome.
Rob.
That turned out nicely Rob!
I still have some tarting up to do Vol.
Steps at front and side doors which I dislike doing. The side doors themselves and several windows plus the wall around the front entrance.
Rob.
Now all the windows are done and just the front and side door steps are needing to be made.
Rob.
Today I added the front steps and part of the balustrade, plus a couple of smaller windows in the top story. Hopefully, tomorrow I will get the side steps done and the rest of the balustrade.
Here is the finished church with the small side windows added, a finial on the pediment, and the balustrade for the main steps completed, together with the side steps.
Tomorrow I will be turning a tower for the fortification on the entrance to the harbour.
Rob.
Makes me wish I had the dexterity to tackle stuff like that, Rob... building and raffling off or auctioning fortifications like that once a year could be a good Anchorage fundraiser, much like my stalled if not stillborn tanks project for the Aerodrome might have.
That's a really beautiful building. The detail is incredible. Very well done!
Thanks for the Rep Howard, and as luck would have it there is a spinoff. Whilst looking for some spare fortification towers today I came across the unopened pack of cards with captain and crew abilities for USS Constitution. I knew I had them somewhere but they were lost in the ether.
If you PM me with your snail mail address I will post them over to you.
Rob.
I will let you in on a secret DB. I have made Mrs Bligh remind me never to embark on a totally scratch building again. It has consumed me over about a week, for several hours a day not including pondering time and finding photos of it before it was shelled in the war in 1991.
However it did show me that I can still produce the good even with my failing eyesight. It just takes longer and the lighting has to be spot on or I can't work on this scale.
Rob.
No worries Howard.
We all try to scratcg each others backs when we can.
If I can help you out in any other way let me know.
Rob.
Today I started off by turning down a tower for my penultimate fortress.Rob.
This morning I began shaping and assembly of the fort.
The tower from yesterday is in the top right hand corner.
Hoping to complete this fort tomorrow.

Another great looking ship Jonas.
Very accurate painting as usual.
Rob.
Thank you, Rob.
Now there’s two 64s and possibly a few 74s more and my Spanish fleet will be full. Then there’s rigging, bases and printing ship cards and it will be all finished.
And then there’s the wrecks…
First 64 started and started a wreck too.

My word Jonas, you are certainly getting a move on with these.
Rob.
All I have managed to get done today is go out for a coffee with some friends, and then finish off that Fort.
I will be joining it onto the wall and fitting the next Bastion tomorrow. All these compound angles are taking a lot of fiddling with to get a good fit.
Rob.
Today I have extended the walls and roughed out the terra. You can see the basic town taking shape better now.Rob.
I just printed this really nice fort I downloaded for free from Thingyverse. Chateau du Taureau

That is a very fine fort Vol. I could have used that for several of my projects.
Yesterday was a bit of a blank for modding for me. I just built up a bit of the terrain which I could not do with my Router, and marked out a bit of harbour wall ready for cutting so nothing to show.
Today it is shopping and then going with Mrs Bligh to the Hospital so not much chance again today.
I will be interested to see your completed fort.
Rob.
Hospital? I hope everything is ok Rob.
Thanks, the best thing is the fort was free! Haha I am surprised no one has commented about the TP in my photos. I use it to blot up excess paint during washes. I think this roll has lasted over a year. The roll before that was commandeered during the pandemic TP shortage, lol.
This is what the real fort looks like:

The next booknook for my youngest daughter's birthday is coming along. She wants the Bridge at Khazad Dum scene fron Lord of the Rings. I have taken it about as far as I can until she supplies the balrog. She wants to sculpt it from clay herself.

Beautiful ship Jonas. You are going to have a formidably large Spanish fleet!
Today I got the harbour complex completed. Tomorrow the fitting of it into place.
Rob.
Just very impressed with both those models gents.
The sheer expertise on the site is phenomenal.
Rob.
Today I completed the Monastry, and the wall joining the fort to the inner fortification.
You can see from the overview that I have also fitted the harbour and forts by removing the blue foam which was in the harbour mouth.
Ditto what DB said. My sister had a hip replaced last year. It took her about nine weeks of physical therapy to recover. I wish for Mrs Bligh an easy operation and speedy recovery.
And the town is looking your usual fantastic!
Mrs Bligh sends her thanks for your good wishes, and I also add mine.
We are now waiting to see when it will be.
Rob.
Great work on the city, Rob.
And do send my best wishes to Mrs Bligh!
Nice projects, gentlemen. :salute:
And YOU're gonna have to be foremost among those strong shoulders--my advice to you two would be start getting a support network of friends and family to help out and getting into practice a few weeks before Game Day--if nothing else, assuming your idiots start backing off just visiting to give her an occasional familiar-face change of company while you go run errands and such.
Hang in there, both of you!
Thanks for the advice DB.
Number one son and his partner have already offered their services, as has my neighbour across the street.
Rob.
That's a start, Rob--many hands make for light work, as the old saying goes. :) I suspect that much of the domestic disharmony in my own household (to the point that I volunteer for extra Neighborhood Watch shifts on weekends and holidays to get a break) is being unable to implement that; it's just me and my aunt to help and none of Mom's few friends are anywhere nearby.
