Hello from Anoka, MN. Any one nearby?
Welcome aboard, Warren. We're glad you are sailing with us. :rum:
Here's wishing that spring arrives sometime soon.
Thanks! Now, I need some local folks to learn the game. Was on the kickstarter, got some good ships...and yes, Spring is arriving....just way too slowly.
Is Anoka anywhere near Minneapolis? I might be traveling up there later this year.
Yeah, this winter has been a long one.
Warren, if the trip is a go, I will let you know. it would be fun to hook up and to play a game or two.
Hello! Is Phoenix Games still in business on Lake Street? They always had a large and well attended group of naval gamers of all stripes. Course that was a few years ago.........;(
Welcome:beer: from Arizona, Warren.
Hello Warren, welcome to the group!!!:beer:
Welcome aboard, Warren! I think Spring is nothing more then a vicious rumor!!:beer: Stay warm!!
Welcome to the Anchorage, Warren.
Hello Warren. Welcome from a next door neighbor! :salute:
Welcome aboard shipmate (or should I say "state-mate")! I'm out in Willmar, about 2 hours west of you.
Welcome aboard Warren!
I'm back into the game. But, still, finding local folks is hard to do. Just reviving this post to see if anyone new from MN jumped on board?
I get to Roseville occasionally ... maybe once every 3 months. We used to get by there twice a month when my son was in college at Northwestern ... but not so much since he graduated. Of course I stop in at "The Source" everytime I'm in town! Never stopped by Fantasy Flight - where are they located?
I still "fiddle" with the ships a bit, but haven't played much. I'm trying to line up a few young men in the area to give them an introduction to the fine art of sailing and fighting ... of taking a ship in harm's way.
Was in the cities last weekend to put my daughter on the Megabus back to Chicago. Decided to stop by Roseville and check out Fantasy Flight ... Wow! Wow! Wow! ... What a terrific facility. You know it's good when you see a hardcore military miniature battle of Stalingrad (complete with terrain) going on right next to a pretty intense game of Diplomacy ... right next to a pair of grandparents playing a simple board game with their grand kids ... and on the other side a father/son (10yr old?) game of chess.
I am so ready to come back, make sail and take a frigate into harm's way. Let me know if you are able to get something going ... and I'll let you know when I can get back to the cities.
Hey Warren, my brother lives in St. Paul, games at Fantasy Flight on occasion, and is getting back into the game. He was just here in Billings, MT (a gaming wasteland) and we had a very fun 3v3 74 gun SoL punch up. I will point him to this forum if you are still active.
Greetings,
I live just South of Woodbury, MN, an do get up to FFG on occasion. I'm just getting into the game.
Welcome to the Anchorage Benjamin, from here in the U.K. harbour.
You will find this a mine of information, with some very knowledgeable messmates from whom to learn.
Bligh.
Greetings Benjamin. Welcome aboard the Anchorage. :salute:
Still haven't made it to the FFG Center, but would love to see it in person. I hear they serve food and drinks now at their nice cafe (wine and local beers on tap)?

Fortunately I do get to see FFG every year at Gen Con.
