A Side Project
A few years back I had an extra sloop floating around and decided to make something. I had all the brigs and schooners that I wanted, so I chose to make a brigantine.
In my original attempt, I gave her a fore and aft gaff mainsail with no squares on the mast. To fill the gap between the fore and the main, I stuck in a small gaff sail on the back of the forecourse mast.
Further research indicated that nobody made brigantines that way, and it bugged me. I decided to correct my mistake a few days ago. Here's the finished result:

And a very nice converted conversion too Dobbs.
Must try one of those for my US Squadron before we get stuck into the Med again in the Spring.

Incidentally, I just tallied them and I have 14 sloops and only 3 are unmodified Swan class ship-sloops!
