Another fine looking ship Jonas.
I can't keep up with your sheer pace.
Today is a dot day because we are off to my number one sons birthday in about an hour from now, soi that is the best part of another day off, and tomorrow is wargames day!
Rob.
Just found this nice example to help me paint the ships a bit differently to each other.
She's sailing again now. She found financing and is at sea again. She's heading to Stockholm right now.
There's a secret about my speed. I paint in stages and have several ships in a half finished state. Then I can finish several quite quickly, but it will take a few weeks between the bursts of finished hulls.
Well I have two on the go together as you know, but I had to trial number one first of the three to see how things went.
Even so you are much quicker.
Must be my age and dithering too much over paint schemes before I commit. Now I'm off for a coffee before we go out. Have a good day sir.
Rob.
This has actually been on my workbench since March and I just now finished it. Navio Argonauta, one of Simon's Montanes class printed hulls. Everything else is scratch. Not really up to the same standard you guys have reached the last couple of months on these 3D ships, but my old decrepit eyes are happy with it.

Don't sell yourself short Vol.
It is as good as my ship painting any day of the week. Your Castile backdrop is also superb.
Que viva España.
Rob.
That is a beautiful ship Vol! Is that in 1:1200?
If so, I'm very impressed with the stern gallery.
Your ships are beautifully rigged. Not many does the running rigging even of us who do rigging at all.

Jonas and Vol, really like your painted models, give great inspiration
Thank you for the rep, Chris.
I’m thinking of trying to get the sails a little… more detail?
What do you think of my test?

Very nice ships painting Jonas and Rob. i really admir your work with painting scheme.
I am surprised with the finish of the 3d ships, this opens a new world for the game.
I will need some advise this Xmas, i believe Santa will bring me a 3d printer.
Vol, what a nice work with the paint and the flags. Did you used silicone for the base ?
No Ferrante, I use a household cement called Goop for the waves on a clear acrylic base. And thank you

So far I have lots of hulls painted and masts in the works.
I hope to suddenly have a Spanish fleet of about 30 ships, but not yet. Nothing finished at all.
Today I finished the ships sides, decks of both ships, and just need to add the ships boats plus stern and bow details.
I also canabalized a French Frigate for the masts and sails for one ship.
Rob.
Nice to see the progress, Rob.
I got a couple of meters 1 mm piano wire so I could make more masts.
I'm looking into what I need for the fleet.
Something I will need to do before long Jonas. The local hobby shop closed down just before Covid struck, and my supplies of all gauges of wire are looking a bit thin.
Rob.
The masts that Simon advises is flower wire, I got a whole bunch from Amazon, 100 x 10” for £3
Enough wire for loads of ships
18 Gauge Thick Green Floristry Cut Wire 10" Lengths 250g Pack
Isn't that for 1:700?
When I scale it down 1 mm fits the holes quite well. Perhaps 1,2 mm would look better, but I'm not that thrilled at drilling the holes. There is a risk of the hulls cracking that scare me...
Mine cost 19 SEK per meter.
Cheers Chris I will put in an order for some of that.

Scratch masts for 12 hulls, five 1st rate and seven 3rd rate sets
I'm working on Simon's Purisima Concepcion now

Magnificent Vol, but they do look tall. Maybe I'm just used to seeing the Ares ones full of sails, or the angle the shot is taken at. Mind you I always thought the Ares bowsprit looked a bit stunted compared with other makes, even the 1200 ones.
Rob.
Thank you Vol for the glue recommendation , I will try to find it there
Today I was making some tokens for the game , launch chips from here . And I was thinking about landing marines .
So I Created some tokens for the main nations in game : Americans, English , French and Spanish
Not 3D models ( yet…) but it will work

You could probably use my ships boats with crew in for 3d versions of landing tokens Ferrante
Grab them here (1:700 but might scale down ok if resin printed):

Those look superb Simon. If they will scale down I'm sure a lot of us would go for them.
Rob.
I do like your chits for the Marines Ferrante. I did some chits for Doncaster game several years ago but they were not in colour and not a patch on yours. it would be nice to be able to copy them if you are willing to post a full size picture here on the Anchorage.

I’m working on two 64 and two San Joaquin, six San Juan Nepomuceno, five San Ildefonso, four Montañes, six Mereguildos, and two Purisima Conseption and a San Nicolas de Bari.
Still missing a mizzenmast and a full set for a 1st rate.
And since it’s Saturday I’m in white tie. It’s after six. What am I? A farmer?
Attachment 55718
That is a very handsome fellow! After 6 for me is evening chores. Bring the horses in from the field and give them their evening meals. Then water the garden. So I guess I am a farmer!:smack::takecover:
Thank you a lot Simon, i still don't have a printer, but i will keep the files for the future :)
Rob, very appreciated. Yes i will put it here in .pdf

Jonas what a nice dress code for the Saturday. I am very impressed with your spanish collection, thank you for sharing.
Amazing Jonas, and that is just the beard.
I am still struggling to get the three Frigates completed.
Rob.
Thanks for the PDF file Ferrante. Those chits will come in very handy.
