Whilst Captain sealegs and Bligh contest the position of second in line, our Commodore attacks his first French opponents First Rate and mauls it.
The French then run a foul of each other and cause severe damage to each other.
Attachment 23491
The next phase is very telling.
Bligh tacks and rakes a 74 whilst Sealegs sails between the two 74s and the First Rate.
Our third 74 engages the First rate on its opposite side.
Bligh's ship sinks the 74, but sealegs having contributed to sinking one 74, and badly mauling the other, succumbs to fire from the First Rate.
Attachment 23492
With Bligh undamaged and our Commodore still in excellent shape.
The French retreat whilst they can, with only a few points remaining.
