On the subject of Mediterranean ships

Years ago (more than I care to remember) my boys and I used to play a Games Workshop game called, I think, Man O’ War? It had various factions, Dwarves, Orcs etc with their own style of ships and believe it or not I still have 3-4 unpainted unassembled ones. I was wondering if this particular ship (which I remember was lateen rigged) might be used in SoG. I have two of these and also the plastic masts/yards and paper sails. I took a photo with the hull next to SoG 32 gun Frigate Unite for scale. I think maybe they are a little too long?

Nice looking hull Steve. I would love to get my paintbrush around that.
I am not sure how big they built these craft, but I expect DB, Dave Manley, Dobbs or Texas will have the SP on them.

This is a photograph that I have taken from the blog of J White's Gallery.
As you can see, your hull has more resemblance to a Xebec than a frigate. I do not think that helmet is correctly scaled to 1/1000 but of course you can use it for battles, the mismatch is very small.
In the attached image you can see the size comparison of a Xebec and a 32-gun frigate.

If you want an El Gamo for your SoG battles that is a good base to use. It's a little oversized, has too few guns for that size, and is a little cartoony with that figurehead, but add a bowsprit and preferably three masts and you're good to go.

(If it's really El Gamo you want, the three masts should be square rigged.)
