Hello I pledged at Lt. level to the kickstarter yesterday and joined the Anchorage. I have played WoW/WoG off and on since 2008, but I have been gaming Napoleonic naval far longer and I am eagerly awaiting SOG!

My second board game was WS&IM and since moving to miniatures I have used numerous rules throughout the years(my favorite is still "Clear for Action" by Malcolm Smalley the DOS based computer moderated rules.) I have miniatures in 3 different scales and soon a fourth! (1/2400, 1/1200, and 15mm). I am currently building 15mm fleets for lake actions in the War of 1812.

I am very interested in rules that represent sailing characteristics accurately. I am a sailor and was a crew member on the SV Kalmar Nyckel a tall ship replica of a Dutch armed merchantman (pinnace) that brought Swedish settlers to the US in 1638. Hence my interest in the Anglo-Dutch wars as well - maybe a subsequent release from Ares!

Cheers

Eric

Welcome Eric.

Ares plans are for more coverage of the Age of Sail, so not just Napoleonic. When they get around to them though ...

Cheers

For anyone visiting the East coast she is certified to carry passengers and you can book a cruise. You can help haul lines and set sail as well.

Great stuff. Thanks for sharing.

The cruise looks interesting, especially if they fire guns. I have wondered what that experience would be like on one of these ships.

There are several of us in the Columbus area. Misdomingo, The Cowman & others. We play regularly at The Soldiery. We mostly play Wings of Glory, but I'm sure the ships will set sail when SoG is released.

Welcome to the anchorage Eric. Dutch wars would be great but I fear they are a long way off at the moment. Got to get through Napoleonic and War of 1812 first:D

Greetings, Eric! :rum:

Wicked cool bio. Love the links and idea of the cruise. Sadly I have never done well at sea or in air (not a great combo for someone that spent almost 8 years aboard a plane) but I always hope to someday enjoy a cruise like that.
