1795 - The U.S. Navy Office of Purveyor of Supplies is established. This is officially recognized as the Navy Supply Corps Birthday.

When I was younger, I never appreciated the role of supplies in wargames; I simply wanted to focus on tactics and fighting. Now, I have a much deeper appreciation of the strategic importance of supply lines and access to resources. Happy birthday NSC.
