Basic rules, round shot only, plotting of 2 cards, Marine fire and boarding.
1 = HMS Malta - Tim Marx
2 = Neptune – Pat Icard
3 = HMS Goliath – Andrew Baur(?)
4 = le Berwick – David Quan
5 = HMS Superb – Erick McCrosky
6 = Dugay-Trouin – Chris Weaver
59833
59834
59835
The RN, sails full of air, charge on waiting for the French to make a move.
59836
59837
The French SOL, Dugay-Trouin opens the show with a long range broadside. (it then hit me, I have Litko broadside markers....time to use them!)
59838
The maneuvering begins…
59839
Le Berwick fires at the HMS Malta. Tim, HMS Malta captain holds his fire.
59840
The battle begin in earnest as broadsides blast away.
HMS Malta(1) fires on Berwick(2)
HMS Goliath exchanges with Neptune
Dugay-Trouin fires on HMS Superb
59841
The HMS Supurb , holding its fire, closes in and blasts the Dugay-Trouin at close range.
59842
Le Berwick fires long range at HMS Malta.
59843
The Dugay-Trouin sits helpless as two RN ships rip her apart. HMS Goliath bow rakes her while HMS Supurb blasts her stern.
Le Berwick and Neptune try to help with a shot at each of the RN ships.
59844
59845
HMS Goliath continues firing as it entangles with le Berwick. Two French SOLs pile on to the Goliath. Le Berwick and Dugay-Trouin let loose at close range.
59846
Still entangled and still fighting, the Goliath and Berwick go at each other and any enemy else in range.
59847
Dougay-Trouin takes a stern rake, ouch!
59848
Neptune gets to fire both broadsides with no return.
59849
The stern rake is all the Dougay-Trouin can take and more, she strikes.
In the ensuing melee le Berwick also strikes her colors.
59850
HMS Malta squares off and lets loose on Neptune.
59851
Neptune turns in and returns a close range broadside.
59852
Neptune decides it’s time to survive and leaves the battle.
59853
59854
The captain of the HMS Goliath, Captain Zero, had amazing luck with damage chit draws. 22 ‘0’s !!
59855
Needless to say, the Royal Navy, capturing two prizes while losing none of their own ruled the seas for the day!
