The Action of 4 November 1641 was a naval battle in which a Dutch fleet supporting the Portuguese during the revolution of 1640 engaged a Spanish fleet commanded by the Duke de Ciudad Real.The Dutch led by Admiral Arnout Gijsels expected French and Portuguese ships to join their fleet but these didn't show up.
