For naval enthusiasts in the area, the WW II era Destroyer Escort USS Slater (the last WW II era D.E. still afloat in the US) will be brought down the Hudson River on Sunday on its way to Staten Island for a refit. Please see story:

For those with an interest, here are a couple of photos I took as the USS Slater passed my place on Sunday. I've also posted the link to the Destroyer Escort Museum in Albany, NY (now closed due to COVID) where the Slater normally berths. She is the last WW II Destroyer Escort afloat.

Very nice photographs Bill. Great to see it in its old WW2 garb rather than the dull old light grey.
