A mine of information there Jason, but the written comments on advantage to which side at different times could prove to constitute a mine field when it comes to planning a game.

I find it especially interesting, since the majority of attention seems to be paid to what was happening on Lake Erie.*

*For those reading this who are not terribly familiar with the geography of the Great Lakes, Ontario and Erie are separated by Niagara Falls, so the fleets on the two lakes were completely separate with the possible exception of small craft and guns that could be transported around the falls.

Two volumes that I own which are great resources on the lake war:

"Warships of the Great Lakes" - not the Osprey book mentioned in the blog, although I have that too. This one goes into much more detail on the ship construction and spans a much greater time period.

"Lords of the Lake" - About the battle between Yeo and Chauncy on Lake Ontario.
