The American Sailing Navy Author:
Howard I. Chapelle ISBN:
1-56852-222-3 Category:
History Format:
Hardback Summary:
The most complete book I have ever found about the sailing ships of the U. S. Navy. The book is loaded with pictures and line drawings of U. S. Navy ships built during the age of sail. A must have book for anyone wanting highly detailed information about U. S. Navy ships. Although it is in a cover to cover reading format, I use it as a reference book as I would a Janes book for later periods. I relied on it heavily when doing conversions of ship models to represent U. S. Navy ships. It is a thick book,558 pages, in hardback but very inexpensive.
